Learn powerful strategies for planning instruction aligned to the Common Core State Standards that leverage existing resources (curricula, instructional
frameworks, etc.) & tools to increase teacher effectiveness, improve student achievement, and evaluate assessment to improve relevancy and achieve balance.
During this workshop you will:
- Move from lesson planning to standards-based learning
- Build instructional strategies that work
- Track, monitor and evaluate practices
- Understand the changing role of textbooks
Creating Curriculum Maps — Aligning Your Curriculum to the Common Core
This session focuses on mapping your curriculum to reveal instructional gaps and determine overlaps in instruction as well as areas
requiring additional instruction. Each participant will receive a copy of the Deconstructed Standards sampler as part of their take-home materials.
During this workshop you will:
- Learn shortcuts for priority alignment
- Define mapping the skill, not the standard
- Determine why mapping is more than scope or sequence
Administrators are strongly encouraged to bring their leadership team for these interactive days.
